It can get confusing trying to be unique without abandoning tradition! Here are a few suggestions; wear your traditional white wedding dress during the ceremony for your parents, friends and family who want to see you as “the Bride” and then during the reception make it all about you! Change into something unique and fabulous, maybe a little sexy, or even a different color!

Or, you can design the ceremony with bridal arrangements in ivory and blush and then for the reception go with dramatic plums and purples! Have the reception designed as a lounge with a martini bar and a signature drink. You and your husband-to-be can name the cocktail after something (a pet, a place) that is important to both of you.

Another great idea is to set up a karaoke stage where guests can loosen up and have a few laughs at themselves! If you two are beach people then maybe have your reception at the beach, but with a twist of elegance! Create a bon fire with tons of candles or have a fancy dance floor put on the sand. Have a formal affair but give everyone beach sandals to wear with their fancy attire - maybe the sandals could be the party favor!
